The Deal-e-(i-e-i-)o

In case you've haven't noticed I've more or less left the xanga community. The only reason I haven't shut down my account is because I have a few xangas I read that require me to be logged in. So don't expect anything to be posted her anytime soon if ever again. The momentum is completely gone (as if it ever existed).

I'm into facebook now, so that's the best place to find me.

Toodles.

What is this daylight thing?

So after three-and-a-half weeks, I'm finally back to days. Tuesday night was my last night on third shift, I'm still adjusting (working both jobs yesterday and today isn't helping). Our remodel has been bumped up a bit from $9.8 mill to $30 mill, unfortunatley none of those extra $20 million is being given to me.

Not much else is going on. My dog (well, my parent's dog) is really sick so we're not sure how much longer she'll be around. We're planning on going home for Easter so I may get to see her again, we'll see.

I'm kind of dwelling on the fact that I'm turning 25 in a little over a month. I'm not sure I'm ready for it. Although talking to some people at work that are kind of in the same boat as me (working retail and not using their degree, not knowing where to go, how to deal, etc) is helping some.

Anyway, that's about it for now. I only have three hours today when I'm not working so I'm going to stop spending it here.

The Ross Update

I thought I'd give a little more info about my new job a Target. Our store is about to embark on a $9.8 million (no typos there) remodel. I'm going to be the right-hand guy for the manager in charge of the remodel. So basically I'll be doing something every day (good), usually won't have to deal with customers (good) and I'll have a set schedule (good). The downside is that I still won't be using my degree and still won't find much fulfillment in my work.

There's also the catch that the first three weeks are going to be really intense and therefore I'll be working over night (10 pm - 6:30 am). I've done this the last three nights for a different project and, while I enjoy the quiet store and how fast things go when I busy, I can't sleep during the day so at current count I'm at about 8.5 hours of sleep in a 72 hour time period which I don't have to tell you isn't healthy. The rub (for this week) is that I'm just about adjusted to where I'm afraid that I'll fall into a deep sleep after laying down in a few minutes here and then won't be able to sleep tonight and I have to work at both jobs tomorrow.

After the first three weeks my schedule will move to 7am-3:30 which will be nice. I'll have Saturday and Sunday off for both of these schedules, so I'm looking forward to that as well. I'm also hoping to get the process of grad school started once I get into the swing of the new schedule. I just have to figure out what I want to get a Masters in...

As far as non-work related news, there's not much to report. Alexis and I pretty much just try to spend whatever time we happen to have together the best we can. Pronk's still alive and well and actually today is his 1st birthday (or 7th depending how you look at it). He's still as bratty as ever, but he's also still cute and knows it.

As far as a creative outlet, 1340mag is going a managerial change and it looks like I'll be out of that site, at least for the time being. I'm still pretty active on ArmchairGM. Related to that, I've started playing with Windows Movie Maker. It's kind of fun and rather extensive for a free program. Here's what I've come up with so far.

Just when I thought I was out...

Well, here I am back at xanga. I took at new position at Target where I won't be dealing with customers and the daily life of retail, so my inspiration on the topics of that new blog I started will be low.

I'm not sure what I'll bring to the table here. I'll have some more time since the new position is acually a regular set schedule, so I might be able to write more.

I do like the Blogger format a lot better, but I think I'll come back to the xanga community for the time being. I'll try and restore some of my links on the side and get the place looking a little better in the upcoming weeks.

But yeah, I'm back. Party on.
